Items that belonged to the Prodigy’s Keith Flint, including his motorbike leathers and hand-made bed, are due to be auctioned in Cambridge next month.

More than 170 lots will go under the hammer including music awards, recordings and studio reels related to the band’s global success in the 1990s and 2000s.

Proceeds from the sale will go towards paying off debts accumulated by the star prior to his death in March, at which time reports suggest he owed around £7.3m in debts and taxes.

The auction will also feature much of Flint’s personal clothing and jewellery, including a distinctive nose piercing he wore regularly both on and off stage. His love of motorsport is reflected in the presence of a number of motorcycle helmets and leathers, in addition to photographs and memorabilia.

Among the furniture and artworks on offer is his specially commissioned bed, featuring legs shaped like thorn bushes and steps held in place by a winged mythical beast.

Martin Millard, director at Cheffins Fine Art, said: “The sale is full of interesting items which give an insight into Keith’s personal life and highlight the difference between his stage persona and his private life. Valuing items with such provenance is almost impossible, and therefore we will not be publishing any pre-sale estimates, but expect there to be lots to cater to most budgets.”

The sale is on Thursday 7 November at Cheffins, Cambridge.
